James Larche, Jr. was born in Gainesville,
Florida, in 1939. He attended the University of Florida, where he
earned his B.A. with honors in 1961 and his LL.B. in 1964, which
was replaced by his J.D. in 1967. While at the University of Florida,
Mr. Larche was a member of Delta Theta Phi, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi
Kappa Phi, Florida Blue Key, and the 1961 University of Florida
Hall of Fame.
From 1964 to 1966, Mr. Larche was a research assistant
for Chief Justice Campbell Thornal of the Supreme Court of Florida.
He has been in private practice continuously since 1966 and has
maintained an “AV” rating with Martindale Hubbell
for over 25 years. He was a member of the Broward County Estate
Planning Council from 1967 to 1996 and its president from 1975
to 1976. He is a current member of the North Central Florida Estate
Planning Council since 1996 and was its president from 2002 to
2003.
Mr. Larche is a member of the Florida Bar and
the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, and he is admitted
to practice in the United States Supreme Court. His practice areas
include estate planning, estate administration, trust administration,
real property and charitable planning. His primary professional
emphases are estate planning, charitable remainder trusts and
charitable lead trusts, (intervivos and testamentary), "QTIP"
marital trusts and "credit shelter trusts", qualified
personal residence trusts, irrevocable insurance trusts, limited
partnerships, limited liability companies and S Corporations,
the administration of estates and trusts, and estate and gift
tax returns.
